Performance Readings Humza al-Hafeez is author of Some Things To Think About, a collection of speeches and letters concerning the state of the black men and woman experience in America, and documenting one of the most important life giving philosophies of our time, which is the message given to us by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. He has lectured at: New York University, Princeton University, Columbia University, Pace College, University of Chicago, Thomas Jefferson High School, PS-21, Wallkill Correctional Facility, Green Haven Correctional Facility, Fishkill Correctional Facility, Arthur Kill Correctional Facility, United States Penitentiaries including: Ray Brook, New York, Terre Haute, Indiana, and Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. In 1959, Mr. Hafeez entered the New York Police Department (NYPD) where he worked as Narcotic Bureau Investigator, and as: Special Investigator (Undercover) U.S. DEA, NAAP Commission Investigator, Manhattan and Brooklyn New York, D.A. Offices. He worked as a consultant, U.S. Justice Department, Director of Security: Uganda Mission, Inner City Broadcasting Corporation, Boys Choir of Harlem and Iran Mission, Administrative Minister, Temple of Islam, Inc., and as Personal Security to Minister Louis Farrakhan. He is Founder and Past President of the National Society of Afro-American Policemen, Inc., and former Contract Chaplain: State Correctional Institution at: Frackville, Dallas, and Coal Township, Pennsylvania. Mr. Hafeez is also former Editor in-chief of Your Muhammad Speaks newspaper and author of articles published in: New York Amsterdam News, City Sun, Caribbean Life, Everybody Magazine, and StreetNews. He is listed in: Ebony Magazine's 1000 Successful Blacks, Who's Who Among Black Americans, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who Professional Index, and International Men of Achievement. Honor and Appreciation Awards: Wallkill State Correctional Facility, Lewisburg Federal Penitentiary, U. S. Penitentiary at Terre Haute, State Correctional Facility at Coal Township Pennsylvania, City of New York Council of Churches Community Award, Kinlock Mission for the Blind, "Father of the Year Award," and Five Medals (NYPD): Excellent Police Duty.
