In 1990-92, Adams impressed with the vast pool of Black talent in the media, began to compile a listing for her publication, Black Authors and Published Writers Directory (BAPWD). Over 1,000 Black authors, publishers, producers, agents, distributors, playwrights, songwriters, artist/illustrators, librarians, newspapers, magazines, talk show hosts, consultants, advertising agents and other marketing resources are listed in the book. In 2003, Adams created and founded BAPWD.com the official website of the Black Authors & Published Writers Directory. Like the book, the website is a "must" for anyone interested in networking with major Black media professionals and services.
Native Greenville, Mississippian, Adams is the first Black signatory agent (Writers Guild of America, East). She has assisted and represented several talents with book publishing projects, including legend Mrs. Rosa Parks, Quiet Strength (1995, Zondervan Publishing Company), songwriter, bass player, vocalist, and producer, Fred Hammond, world renown composer, conductor and author Carman Moore, Crossover: An American Bio (2011, Grace Publishing Company), TV judge and author Greg Mathis, Inner City Miracle (2002, Warner Books), entertainment attorney and author Gregory J. Reed, Esq., Economic Empowerment Through The Church (1994, Zondervan Publishing Company), and others.
Adams is editor and publisher of Black Literary Players (BLP), a monthly on-line newsletter update for the annual Black Authors and Published Writers Directory. Published monthly, the BLP newsletter update features Black authors and published writers profiles, including literary organizations, print and media professional services. Her Rochester, Michigan firm, The Grace Company, also acts as a distribution agent for several publishing entities that provide material that meets the needs of business.
